Athletes at the IVKAR Cup 2008 will compete in Natural Bodybuilding, Athletic-Physique (Figure), and Sport Model categories. The event is divided into two shows: Prejudging (morning show) and the Event Finals (afternoon show). Both shows will be held at the Arts Centre & Theatre (ACT) on Saturday, August 23.

Morning Show (Prejudging)
During the morning event, which commences at 9:00, Athletes will undergo the most challenging part of the competition. At Prejudging, Bodybuilding and Ms. Athletic-Physique (figure) athletes will perform the required compulsories (mandatory poses) for the judging panel. Additionally, the sport model competitors will compete in Round 1 (sports attire).

Afternoon Show (Finals)
The event Finals will commence at 2:00 in the afternoon. During the Event Finals, Bodybuilding and Ms. Athletic-Physique (figure) athletes perform their individual routines, and the sport models compete in the swimsuit and evening wear rounds. Awards and titles are presented to winning athletes after the competition of each class.

Top-placing competitors (pending drug-testing results) are invited to be a part of INBA Team Canada 2008 to represent their country in San Francisco at the Natural Olympia in November, alongside winners of the INBA Canada East event.

Athletes must check in at the venue ½ hour prior to Prejudging and the Event Finals.

Both Prejudging and the Event Finals are Festival Seating (Reserve); therefore, it is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance to secure best available seating.

ATHLETE’S REGISTRATION MEETING

Friday, August 22 @ 6:00 pm

The Athlete’s Registration Meeting will be held the evening before the event at 6:00 p.m.

At Registration:
- athletes are personally required to check-in, verify their height, and pick-up their competitor’s information, which includes their competition numbers.
- athlete-physique (figure) and bodybuilding competitors must provide their music for their routines (All CD’s must be cued and clearly marked with the athlete’s name and class.)
- athletes in age-based classes will be required to present identification.

Additionally, important event information will be provided at the meeting such as the order of classes, as well as the judging process to be followed during Prejudging and the Event Finals. The meeting is also an excellent opportunity to meet other competitors and the INBA Canada Executive, including the President of INBA Canada, who will personally welcome each athlete to the event by presenting him/her with an IVKAR Cup 2008 participant medal.

Athletes Please Note: All forms and associated fees are required prior to receiving your competitor number(s). Any athletes who have deficiencies to clear up (i.e. missing forms or fees), as well as any athletes who intend to register at the competitor’s meeting will be required to wait until all registered athletes have picked-up their competitor packages. Therefore we encourage all athletes to ensure their application is compete prior to registration, as this helps to speed up the registration process for everyone.

Any competitors wishing to register (submit their entry forms and fees) on the Day of Registration will be subject to a $100.00 late fee. All fees must be paid in cash.

ALTERNATE REGISTATION TIME
Athletes are strongly encouraged to attend the competitor’s registration as there is important information provided at the meeting which pertains to the event. However, if an athlete is unable to attend the Athlete’s Registration Meeting due to travel, etc then he or she may register the morning of the event.

In order to be eligible for morning registration, all athletes are required to notify INBA Canada at least one week in advance, via e-mail or phone. Also, it is important that an athlete’s application is complete with no deficiencies prior to qualifying for morning registration.

All athletes registering in the morning must be at the auditorium by 8:00 a.m. and officially register in person. Please bring ID if you are in a specialty (age-based) class.

NO new entries will be permitted on the morning of the event.

VIDEO / DVD

The IVKAR Cup 2008 – Canada’s Ultimate Physique Challenge is professionally produced and available for purchase on DVD.

A limited number of copies will be made. Please see the Video Order Form for more information and to place your order to reserve your copy of the DVD.

A special rate is available to competition athletes through the purchase of one of the competitor packages, as noted on the second page of the Competitor’s Entry Form.

A video is a terrific keepsake, as well as a helpful training tool for novice bodybuilding athletes, and competitors new to the sport model or athletic-physique (figure) categories.

PHOTOGRAPHY

INBA Canada hires a sports photographer to be on-site during Prejudging and the Event Finals.

During the morning, all athletes will have their photos taken backstage immediately after their class has completed Prejudging. The following poses are required:

- Bodybuilding and Athletic-Physique (figure) competitors will perform the front double-bicep, side chest-bicep and most muscular (men) / most symmetrical (women).

- Sport Model competitors are required to take their photos first as a group and then individually in a quarter-turn stance, while in their Sport / Athletic Wear (Round One). One full-body and one head shot of each athlete will be taken. Additional photos (head shots and full-body) will be taken after Round Two and Round Three during the event finals.

In addition to the event photos, individual photo sessions are available to competitors who purchase the All-Inclusive Competitor Package, as noted on the second page of the Competitor’s Entry Form. All individual photo sessions MUST be prepaid in advance.

JUDGEMENT DAY

In-line with INBA Canada’s philosophy of fairness and transparency, personal judging forms, including the judges’ written comments are available to athletes. Individual judging forms are included at no additional cost to competitors who purchase one of the Competitor Packages, as noted on the second page of the Competitor’s Entry Form.
Additionally, requests are also accepted after the event through the mail. A written request, accompanied by a $15.00 cheque or money order, must be received by INBA Canada prior to release of the forms.

INBA CANADA CLOTHING

INBA Canada clothes are available for purchase at the IVKAR Cup event. Clothing is made from high-quality breathable fabric with the INBA Canada logo. Some items also have the slogan “Dedicated to the Sport of Natural Bodybuilding” on the back.

Available clothing includes a hoodie with zipper, pullovers, t-shirts, and tank tops. Sizes range from small to extra-large depending on availability. All members receive an INBA Canada competitor’s t-shirt. Athletes who purchase one of the Competitor Packages available through the Competitor’s Entry Form also receive an INBA tank (please be sure to identify your size).

WIND-UP PARTY

All athletes, along with their friends and family, are invited to attend the post-competition get together, which will take place after the IVKAR Cup Event Finals. The location and time of the event will be provided to competitors at the athlete’s meeting.

This is a great opportunity to unwind, celebrate achievements and to socialize with other competitors, as well as relax with the judging panel and INBA Executive.
