HEALTH
We believe that natural bodybuilding is more then “a competition”.
In fact, a competition for a true natural bodybuilder is not an
end, but rather an exciting challenge along the path of life-long
fitness used as a goal-setting tool to motivate or as a place
to celebrate one’s personal achievements. The real natural
bodybuilder is focused on improved health and leading a longer
and more vibrant life. More specifically, a natural bodybuilder’s
lifestyle includes regular exercise that is comprised of a combination
of cardiovascular and resistance training complemented by a well-planned
nutritional program. Expanding the scope of what the sport of
natural bodybuilding is about is one of our biggest challenges,
yet our sweetest rewards, as increased numbers of men and women
are beginning to recognize the benefits of a natural bodybuilders’
lifestyle.

GENDER EQUALITY
INBA Canada offers bodybuilding and sport model events
for both men and women, as well as a female-focused category called
Ms. Athletic-Physique at the IVKAR Cup. In each of these categories
all individuals are treated as athletes and respected for all
the hard work they have put into preparing for competition day.
INBA Canada believes that it is only by treating both men and
women fairly, and as real athletes that a natural bodybuilding
organization can celebrate the true nature of “sport and
athletics”.

TRANSPARENT DRUG-TESTING PROGRAM
The natural status of athletes at the IVKAR Cup is of paramount
importance to INBA Canada. To help ensure that the INBA stage
has only natural athletes competing at its events, INBA Canada
has put in place a strict drug-testing procedure that competitors
must follow prior to and while competing and an INBA Canada event.
This includes the submission of a DTA (Drug-Testing Agreement
form) verifying an athlete’s natural status, complying with
INBA Canada’s Anti-doping policy (which includes the World
Anti-Doping Code Prohibited List) and being subject to urine analysis
testing as requested by INBA Canada. To make the most out of your
competition experience at the IVKAR Cup, it is very important
that you read and understand the Drug-Testing section of the website
prior to submitting your DTA form for the event.

INDEPENDENT JUDGING
Objective, non-biased judging is essential to any sport organization
that is founded in fairness and integrity. INBA Canada formalized
the independent structure of its judging process though the appointment
of a Head Judge. This position is responsible for leading the
judging process to ensure that fair and impartial judging is employed
at all INBA Canada competitions through a standardized and regulated
judging process. Accordingly, the INBA Canada judging panel, under
the direction of the Head judge, is an independent body which
is comprised of both male and female representatives, who make
impartial decisions pertaining to competitor placement during
a competition.

EDUCATION
INBA Canada is the only bodybuilding organization in the country
that is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge of athletes through
the development of an “education strategy”. As part
of this strategy, an Education Director position was created to
help INBA Canada provide athletes with accurate and current information
on nutrition, exercise prescription and contest preparation. As
a member of the Executive, Mr. Cory Holly, one of Canada’s
leaders in the health and fitness industry, is the driving force
in our educational efforts to increase awareness, knowledge and
understanding of the sport of natural bodybuilding and the benefits
of a natural bodybuilding lifestyle. |
